How To Update The Firmware (1.5.4) on Spark?

Information message

Firmware is a software program or set of instructions programmed on a hardware device. It provides the necessary instructions for how the device communicates with the other computer hardware.
In other terms, the firmware is the software installed in your amp. It is used to operate your amp and communicate with the Spark app

Firmware updates will be less frequent than App updates. There is usually no need to update your amp firmware unless you have some issues or if a new Firmware introduces new features.

Warning

Firmware update cannot be done with a mobile device (tablet or phone). You’ll nee a PC or Mac computer to update to launch the firmware update tool.

In case you’ve updated your Spark App (or it has been updated automatically by your mobile device, you might get prompted to upgrade the firmware of your amp. Especially if you want to use the new amps and effects released regularly by Positive Grid (July 2021 Gear Drop, Experience Jimi Hendrix™ pack, etc.)

You morons bricked my amp by forcing me into this update. I followed every step listed above to the letter and was told the firmware update was successful. I ejected, unplugged and as soon as I went to play the amp, there was no sound and just the 5 blinking lights on the top. I cannot factory reset, I can’t get the firmware updater to recognize my amp, and nothing helps.

    Great work.

    1. Please keep your insults for yourself! This website is not ran by Positive Grid!
This issue you’re facing is known by them and can happen in some cases.
I suggest you to log a ticket on their support page and they will send you a new updater tool.
Your amp is not bricked and can be fixed.
      Thank you

With every firmware update comes another set of issues. I have never updated my spark without it bricking.
